Antique shutters – Many people use shutters for windows privacy. But shutters are often white to the color, making them seem very common or cheap looking. With the right type of color, you can easily change the color of your roller blind and can also add shapes or systems to coordinate with the room.

Place magazines on a large table and dress in your old clothes. Take your roller shutters and pull it all the way. Make sure the antique shutters are in a locked position so it does not roll itself up. Put a sphere of acrylic paint on your paper plate. Use a large brush to apply acrylic paint to your roller shutters in a horizontal or vertical mode. Only paint in a consistent direction to ensure a uniform color job. Allow the paint to dry before handling or applying a second layer. Turn over your shutters and paint the other side if you wish for both sides to be the same color.

Use a medium sized brush and make circular movements on your shutters to create swirls of colors. Hire a small sponge to lightly sand on your shutters.
